Day Two: San Antonio

Today was a busy day for the PraiSingers and PraisRingers.  We started the day by getting messy – painting and doing yard work for Medical City Baptist Church.  This church, in San Antonio’s Medical District, has four different congregations worshiping in as many different languages.  We re-striped curbs and sidewalks, mowed and edged the lawn, trimmed shrubs, and even painted the sign in front of the church.  Check out the pictures of our work (see link below)!

After a quick shower and change of clothes, we headed for “The Waterford”, a nearby retirement community.  Our kids played and sang for the residents, then spent some time visiting with them and enjoying lemonade and fresh baked sugar cookies.  That was enough fuel to sustain us until we got back to the motel for lunch.  After devouring pizza, we headed to Martindale, where we set up and rehearsed for tomorrow’s services.  We finished the day with a trip to North Star Mall, in case anyone had money left for shopping.  We’ll have an early start tomorrow – the vans pull out at 7 o’clock sharp!
