We were blessed today to be able to share our music in two special locations. First, we sang and played at the Culpepper Assisted Living Facility in Branson. Not only did the students perform, but they also spent time visiting and ministering with some of the residents at Culpepper. It was such a blessing to see students stepping out of the comfort zone and make the day of so many of the residents.
Once we left Culpepper, we made our way from Branson to Clarksville, Arkansas. On our way to Arkansas we started our annual Spades tournament. We arrived in Cherry, Arkansas at Cherry Street Baptist Church. Jeff and Dawn Brewer have served at Cherry Street for just over a year now. This church was beautiful and had wonderful acoustics.
We had several family members come to hear our concert tonight as well as former FBC Keller members Randy and Janet Richardson. After 6 days and 8 concerts, our students saved their best for last. The concert was wonderful and the students did a great job in leading in worship.
Tomorrow we head for home and a night’s sleep in our own beds. Check back tomorrow night for pics of the ride home.
Our home concert will be at FBC Keller this Sunday, May 15th at 5:30 p.m.

Today was another full day of singing and fun! We gave an outdoor concert today during lunch time at the Branson Landing. The Landing is a relatively new development in the Branson area and is an outdoor mall stretching alongside a local waterway. For those of you familiar with the Keller area, it is very similar to Southlake Town Center. We performed in front of the fountains in the center of the shopping district. Immediately before our program, there was a choreographed water fountain show set to the Star-Spangled Banner.
After our afternoon at the Landing, we came back to the hotel and quickly changed into our tour outfits. We loaded the buses and headed towards Springfield, Missouri. Our evening concert was at National Heights Baptist Church and our students did a great job! Even though our students are starting to get a little tired, they continue to work hard and faithfully present the message of Christ in our songs.
Tomorrow we will sing at an assisted living center here in Branson and then head to Arkansas for our last tour concert.

Wow, today was a lot of fun but everyone is exhausted tonight as we go to bed. This morning we woke up early and left the hotel for Silver Dollar City at 7:15 a.m. We arrived at the park before opening, unloaded our equipment and sang for the guests as they entered the park in the morning.
Then we spent the rest of the day enjoying Silver Dollar City. The kids and sponsors had a blast, but by the end of the day, we were all wiped out!

This morning we woke up relatively late, loaded the buses and headed back to FBC Topeka to have a masterclass with Bill and Jane Anderson. For those of you who may not know what that is…a masterclass is a type of musical rehearsal in which a well-known teacher works with a group of students. Bill and Jane Anderson are talented musicians who have spent the past 25 years in church music. Bill worked extensively with our choirs and Jane took the handbells into the sanctuary and worked with them. We had a great time and made a lot of progress on our music for tour.

Today was a very full day of music! Our students woke up early and left for FBC Topeka at 7:15 a.m. Our ensembles sang/played in the two traditional services at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. and the contemporary service at 9:45.
After a pizza lunch with the youth group at FBC Topeka, we came back to the hotel for a little down time before our evening concert. Around 5:30 we headed down the road to Lawrence, Kansas to FBC Lawrence. The church provided a wonderful potluck dinner for us and then we presented our full program for the first time. Our students did an incredible job in leading worship and singing.

The first day of choir tour is quickly coming to a close, and it was a lot of fun! Our bus ride from Keller to Topeka, Kansas took about 9 hours including stops for lunch. The travel here was relatively uneventful, but there was a lot of game playing, singing, and sleeping.
This evening we went to a local mall and had dinner in the food court. Several of our kids took advantage of the shopping and picked up a few things to bring home with them.
Tonight we will get to bed pretty early so that we will be refreshed and ready to lead in worship.

Each night, we will post updates from the day as well as pictures. Check back each day to find out more of what we are doing!
