Hello Love
September 17, 2008
Hello Love is the latest musical offering from renowned worship leader Chris Tomlin. This new CD follows in the tradition of earlier works Arriving and See the Morning. Tomlin’s music is well-loved throughout churches everywhere, including FBC Keller. But don’t expect reworked songs from previous CD’s. The songwriting here is strong as usual, but it’s obvious that Chris Tomlin continues to grow as a musician and worship leader. Make sure you listen to God of This City, a passionate prayer for God to move locally, not just throughout the world.
Vintage Jesus
May 26, 2008
Vintage Jesus, the newest book by Mark Driscoll, teaching pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, takes a detailed, Biblical look at who Jesus is. This isn’t your average theology book though. You will be surprised to find yourself not being able to put this book down. Driscoll writes in a style that is hilarious, yet penetrating to the heart of the matter. When you are done with the book, you will have a much clearer picture of who the Bible says Jesus is and will be able to decipher the misconceptions that world has about him.
From VintageJesus.net:
Roughly two thousand years ago, Jesus was born in a dumpy, rural, hick town, not unlike those today where guys change their own oil, think pro wrestling is real, find women who chew tobacco sexy, and eat a lot of Hot Pockets with their uncle-daddy. Jesus’ mom was a poor, unwed teenage girl who was often mocked for claiming she conceived via the Holy Spirit. Most people thought she concocted the crazy story to cover the fact she was knocking boots with some guy in the backseat of a car at the prom. Jesus was adopted by a simple carpenter named Joseph and spent the first thirty years of his life in obscurity, swinging a hammer with his dad.
In Vintage Jesus, one of America’s most influential young pastors teams up with a seasoned theologian to lead you on a hilarious theological journey chasing Jesus through Scripture and pop culture. The authors provide timeless answers to twelve timely questions about the most important man who has ever lived. Each chapter concludes with answers to common questions about each subject.

There have been seventeen thousand books written about Jesus, but none is like Vintage Jesus.

Don’t Waste Your Life
April 14, 2008
Don’t Waste Your Life by well-known author and pastor John Piper is a challenge to look beyond the expectations of the world and begin to look at life through God’s perspective. We can’t afford to waste our time here on earth by chasing after vain things like possessions, popularity, or approval.
God has created us for a specific reason and we will be the happiest when we are in the center of God’s will. Piper explains this clearly, “…whatever you do, find the God-centered, Christ-exalting, Bible-saturated passion of your life, and find your way to say it and live for it and die for it.”
This tremendous book is well worth your time and will transform the way you view your life and your relationship with God.
